A joint is a place. Not a brand. Not a platform. A place, with a door and a smell and somebody behind the counter who knows your name. The gas station on the way into town where the sandwiches are better than they have any right to be. The welding shop in Gunnison where mild steel goes in one door and comes out the other as a skull that looks like it could still bite.
These are the businesses I build for. Every one of them was working off a website somebody put up years ago and never had time to touch again, because they were busy running the joint. So: drag the line. Left is what they had. Right is what they have now.
Now
Gas station, killer sandwiches, and a convenience store, all wrapped into one, grillin' high in the Rockies since 1998. The old site was a black template with the hours below the fold and the phone number tucked in a corner. The new one leads with the Stealie, puts Call to Order in the middle of the screen, and lets the mountains do the rest.
Now
One-of-a-kind sculpture, hand hammered, welded, and heat colored in Gunnison, Colorado. The old site was white space and centered paragraphs about the work, with a single longhorn skull to prove it existed. The new one opens on the work itself, full screen, sparks still in the air, and asks you one question: do you want to commission a piece?
